2016 marked the 12th consecutive years’ celebration of the Australian Muscle Car Masters where Mothers Car Polish was a major sponsor. The event is a tribute to all things Muscle Car heritage and features Mothers sponsored retro racing categories including Heritage Touring Cars from the Group C/A Bathurst era, Historic Touring Cars and Production Sports Cars.

As a nod to the nostalgic glory days of Bathurst, the Muscle Car Masters is a horsepower heaven for motorsport fans. Unlike other motorsport events, fans can get up close to the machinery and chat with the drivers and their mechanics.

Attractions weren’t limited to the track, with legend race drivers available for a chat, a mega show n’ shine for road registered muscle cars and merchandise alley. Demonstrations were also held for those vehicles considered too precious for racing. This included a very special 1980 Holden VC HDT Commodore sedan showcased on the Mothers stand. One of only 11 cars used in the 1980 two race series Race of Champions (ROC) and driven by Sir Jack Brabham himself. The car includes the original half roll cage, blueskies services and fire system used in the great race. The car was built by Peter Brock for Sir Jack Brabham to drive in the series, with the roll cage and the steering wheel hand engraved by Peter Brock personally.
