He spent time in a Rolls-Royce dealership before landing a job in Lindsay Fox’s museum, where he rose to the position of Director. He has spent 27 years working for the Fox family as a workshop manager; building and restoring classic cars from Lindsay Fox’s $45 million car collection. Project – 550 Spyder Re-Creation Build Having restored the only 550 Spyder (#0056) to ever come to Australia, Brian wanted to build another. As these rare Porsche Race Cars number, no more than 90, and their dollar value seems to increase by almost one million (USD) per year it was always going to be a slim chance that another genuine spyder would ever fall on his lap for restoration ever again.
The multiple and international award winning team at Hills and Co Customs are on hand to offer their expert skills to breathe new life into all classic and vintage. Doing it so it lasts is the philosophy behind our workmanship and as much attention is given to what you don’t see as what you do.
While the team have gained notoriety for some of Australia’s highest profile custom and classic cars, we are equally responsible for many everyday restorations across Australia.
Project – 1949 Buick. The two door coupe was found languishing in a paddock in Iowa; faded, sad, but complete with all mechanicals and trim still present. The body was strong throughout, although minor rust was present in places. All in all, it looked a great basis for a project and was destined to be resurrected in a fashion highly sympathetic to the era and the original lines of the car.
