Australian Muscle Car Masters 2017 Copy

Mothers Polish Australia was a proud sponsor of this year’s Muscle Car Masters (MCM) held on 28 & 29 October at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Australian Muscle Car Masters (MCM) is a celebration of our country’s Muscle Car heritage and a tribute to the drivers that raced. MCM is a race down memory lane for those that grew up spending the October long weekend viewing the Great Race on TV or spectating trackside on Mount Panorama.

Enthusiasts got up close to the machinery and chatted with the drivers and their mechanics.

Off-track attractions included ‘meet and greet’ sessions with legend race drivers including John Bowe, Colin Bond, Peter Doulman, John Goss and many more. A mega show n’ shine, a selection of GTR XU-1 road car Toranas celebrating this year’s Torana-only race and Significant cars from the 1979 Repco Reliability on display, along with HDT Team Members.

Congratulations to the Podium Winners for the Mothers Sponsored Race.

Getting our retro on at the 2016 Muscle Car Masters

2016 marked the 12th consecutive years’ celebration of the Australian Muscle Car Masters where Mothers Car Polish was a major sponsor. The event is a tribute to all things Muscle Car heritage and features Mothers sponsored retro racing categories including Heritage Touring Cars from the Group C/A Bathurst era, Historic Touring Cars and Production Sports Cars.

As a nod to the nostalgic glory days of Bathurst, the Muscle Car Masters is a horsepower heaven for motorsport fans. Unlike other motorsport events, fans can get up close to the machinery and chat with the drivers and their mechanics.

Attractions weren’t limited to the track, with legend race drivers available for a chat, a mega show n’ shine for road registered muscle cars and merchandise alley. Demonstrations were also held for those vehicles considered too precious for racing. This included a very special 1980 Holden VC HDT Commodore sedan showcased on the Mothers stand. One of only 11 cars used in the 1980 two race series Race of Champions (ROC) and driven by Sir Jack Brabham himself. The car includes the original half roll cage and fire system used in the great race. The car was built by Peter Brock for Sir Jack Brabham to drive in the series, with the roll cage and the steering wheel hand engraved by Peter Brock personally.
